If one machine defines self service or culture its this is the very first ATM opened in New York city in 1939 but its only in the last 20 years that its taken over and its got a lot of names as Automated teller banking machine, cash point or Simply a money machine .

The one we are looking at is an automatic teller machine or ATM and like the bank teller humans it replaces  the ATM identifies you know your limits and provides access to financial transactions .

How it works ATM face several challenges first make sure you and your card are legit Second find your account information accurately complete the transaction you want and finally do it while protecting an on board vault that stores thousands. 

The machine starts by checking your credentials  this black strip looks solid but the ATM has two readers that see what you don't a million tiny magnets each with postie or negative  charge a binary code the first reader looks for special code that confirms the card is real the Second reader grabs your account number and password to check is it correct.

 Once confirmed the ATM connects to your banks network and access to the on board vault trays which hold different domination's  with thousands of bills in each and one tray is left empty for deposit .

 For withdraw vacuum driven grab one bill at a time  to the roller system  delivering bills one by one here sensors calculate the width of the paper when you finally  withdraw cash .
